A classic blend of forest and sea, activity and relaxation. Enjoy!

The 20th and 21st could be a bit busy but it depends on what times the trips are offered. San Pedro is a lot of fun. We talk about going back but haven't made it yet. I can tell from pictures, it has developed a lot in the last five years. Be prepared for the sand fleas on the beach - they can be nasty little guys and they sometimes nail good before you even figure it out.

I notice that both of your snorkel trips are off the coast of Ambergris. Why not stay there?

Yes, it is more developed than Caulker, but still way laid back, and the beaches are much better.

FYI Linda137 If the beach is raked regularly the sandflies don't like it. My wife had to seek medical attention in 07 for sandfly bites so we know all about it. Since then we have spent about 1.5 months on beaches in CA with hardly a problem.

Stakerk It sounds like a lot of traveling for a vacation. Carocol is really worth it. We spent 2 days there and will go back in 2010. You should include the Rio Frio Falls in that part. Mexico Rocks is not as much fun as Shark Ray Alley but when our guide said "stay in as long as you want" he didn't know that I love to swim forever. I did see 2 types of rays as well as a sunken boat and numerous fish and corral. I've been to San Ignacio 3 times and never did the ATM tour ( I thought it was a bank machine) but have heard rave reviews, you can ride a horse anytime. Remember to wave at us as we will be traveling from mid Feb. to mid March or longer.

Sorry had another thought. Depending on the time of day you arrive you might want to reverse you schedule as the drive to San Ignacio takes a few hours. You could fly from the airport right to Caye Caulker or AC.

That looks pretty enjoyable, but are there other activities that you or the kids like to do? Things like kayaking, scuba diving, wind/kitesurfing, and even horseback riding are available. Don't know what your family likes to do, but these are some of the things my girlfriend and I are planning to do during our trip. We've done a great deal of research on these activities and discuss them in a blog: www.belizeantravel.com.
It features some of the vendors that offer these activities and impressions of the itinerary options. We're still finalizing ours, so I am happy to use yours as a template!
