Belize 1/2 day tour off cruise ship

We are looking for a short tour in January when we arrive on Regatta. I contacted Cayman Island group that do provide tours but not to the Regatta. Does anyone have other ideas?

Cruise shop passengers come ashore at the Tourist Village in Belize City. The Tourist Village is like a shopping mall.

Outside the Village, you'll find lots of Belizean tour guides waiting. They all have "menus" of the tours they offer, so wander around and talk to a few before selecting one.

A couple of things to watch for... all tour guides must be licensed, so ask to see the license if you want, and also check that the vehicle is in good condition.

You might be able to see Altun Ha in a 1/2 day; but just a warning (IMO!) Belize City is a hole.

We used NCQ Adventures on our cruise last January - also known as Nacho and Cynthia.... their website is:

They offer half day tours as well as full day and I'm sure they'd be happy to customize your day to meet your needs. We did their Altun Ha and Baboon Sanctuary Tour, so for us it was pretty much a full day. The Baboon Sanctuary was one of the highlights of our cruise.

I'd highly recommend Nacho and Cynthia.

For us, the best part of visiting Belize City was watching it disappear on the horizon as the ship sailed out of the port - if there ever was a next time (but there won't be) we'd just stay on the ship.
