Ballet Folklorico de Mexico

I wish to catch the 9:30 Sunday morning show of the ballet at Palacio de Bellas Artes near Mexico City Zocalo before catching my flight to USA departing around 2:30 in the afternoon. How long the show lasts and also am I cutting it too fine as for catching the flight is concerned?

The show lasts about 2 hours and a taxi to the airport from downtown is about 15-20 minutes. I think you'd be fine catching the Sunday am show...it's awesome!

Have fun!

BTW: Just a heads up. The U.S. State Dept. is warning people to be careful about catching taxis outside Palacio de Bellas Artes.

Thanks a lot Mark... for the info, but I was not planning on taking a cab from Palacio de Bellas Artes, I will walk back to my hotel, most likely Holiday Inn Zocalo to collect my luggage before heading out to Airport. As for taking a taxi, I thought getting one from an official taxi stand was safe. Shouldn't an important tourist destination like Palacio de Bellas Artes have official taxi stand?

I don't remember a stand at the Palacio, but even if there is, loose taxis just crowd around. What I would do is ask your hotel to have a car/taxi waiting (at the hotel) to take you to the airport. You've got time, but not a lot to spare.
