BA - Sofitel or Four Seasons
 

First time visitor to Buenos Aires in March 2004. Received the same rate for the Sofitel and the Four Seasons. Sofitel includes breakfast, queen size bed. Four Seasons no breakfast, king bed. Anyone care to compare the two with regards to location, amenities, service?

two of the best hotels in town. Sofitel is nearer to the downtown area....I don't like the area as much after dark...but a very nice hotel and a great restaurant on premises....

4 seasons....Castro and many other visiting dignitaries stay here....across the street from an area called la recova, with tons of good restaurants....and about two blocks from Pario Bullrich mall.....one of the more exclusive parts of town....

I stayed at the Four Seasons in 1998 when it was branded as a Park Hyatt, and its in a great location -- you can walk to restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.

The 4 seasons is tops. They offer excellent packages with week ends at the 4 Seasons in Carmelo, excelent golf, spa , a delightful place, both places are very near although in different countries. Carmelo is worth a visit for relaxing.

While I haven't stayed in the Sofitel, I have stayed at the Four Seasons. Did you look at the Four Seasons website to see what packages you can get?

The Four Seasons is excellent. Attentive staff, close to Recoleta, walking distance to numerous shops, cafes and sites and a great pool. Yes, it is pricey, but if you book a club floor room, you have access to an incredible contiental breakfast and cocktails.
