BA Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve

We will have 3 nights in Buenos Aires and want to bird the ecological reserve each morning. So we'd like a hotel that is within walking distance of an entrance to the reserve.

The location of the Holiday Inn Express in Puerta Madero seems to be good for the reserve and other areas of interest. Does anyone have experience with this hotel? Is the breakfast buffet any good or should we consider eating out? Thanks!

Here are great photos and more info on the Reserve , in case you have not seen this.

The Holiday Inn is not ON Puerto Madero where the Preserve is. It is on the big road/highway that runs along beside Puerto Madero.
You would have to cross the bridges and walk from one side to the other..here is more info on Puerto Madero.

The hotels are mostly expensive, I think.
The Faena Universe and Sofitel are two that I can think of that are beautiful..but not sure of Sofitel prices.

Hope this helps..

Thanks Scarlett! As best I can tell, there are 3 hotels on the east side of the bridges (Faena, Sofitel, Hilton) close to the reserve, but all are fairly expensive. Of these the Hilton is the least expensive, but will still cost $250-300US per night and that's without breakfast.

I was thinking the HI Express was not too much further from the reserve and it's much less expensive. Is it a problem having to cross the bridges to get to the reserve?

If you are going to be across the water and not that close to the Reserve, then you can choose a hotel in one of the prettier areas of town.
That street is a huge wide busy noisy street .
You could stay in Retiro or Recoleta and still hop over to the Reserve easily by cab which costs very very little.
When will you be here?

Scarlett, we arrive early morning on Oct 3 and leave mid-day Oct 6. So we will have 3 nights, 3 full days, plus the morning on the last day.
