August in Argentina: what's opened/closed?

I am planning a two week trip to Argentina in August.

I have contacted some jungled lodges in the Misiones region and was told they'll all be closed on account of it being the rainy season there.

I realize this is ski season in Patagonia, so I suppose it's high season there.

But what about in further south, like around Perito Moreno, El Chalten or El Calafate? Do hotels, restaurants and other attractions tend to stay open during the month of August?

I'm basically looking for areas I can guiltlessly cut from the long list of places I want to visit!

I have no idea but while doing my own research on Argentina, I found this site. Hope this helps..or at least tops this for you :)

Scarlett's link is to a great site. Don't miss at the bottom of that web page for "viajes explora" the links to the other related trips at least some of which are also available in August

Crossing the Andean Mountain Range
Journey through Chilean and Argentine Patagonia
explora in Easter Island
explora in Atacama
explora Salto Chico (Patagonia)

Thanks for the tip.

It looks like that company runs trips year round. But I thought I saw some other messages about places in the far south that shut down in August.

Anyone else?
