Argentina & ? in 2 weeks

I may be visiting Argentina for 10 days to 2 weeks - my 50th birthday. I've always wanted to spend a few days in Buenos Aires.

I would also like to see Rio de Janeiro and/or Chile as part of the trip. Can anyone suggest an itinerary? I know little about South America, having traveled overseas primarily to Europe.

Is late April/early May pleasant weatherwise?

Hi, there are professionals who can do this much better than I, like Cintia with Wowargentina.com.ar THey are great for that of course they would expect to be hired by you. In my experience it will make your trip memorable.
In the mean time, I can tell you what I feel.
South America as you know is huge, so I guess you will have to make some kind of selection setting some kind of priorities.
First , do not get involved with a package from the US, get your ticket in a wholesaler. Inside Latin America there are regional passes which will allow you to travel from one place to the other.

Hi, Who really know about this new procedure by the Brazilian Authorities?, I read it is some kind of pay back to the US for our new security measures. I do not get it, why they would think this measures are been taken against Brazil? They can impose any measure they wish but it seems that to target American citizens does not have any sense.
The newUS measures involve many, many countries probably 60 or more and besides people are not made to wait for hours before coming into the US. I read that instead in Brazil it takes quiet a long time. This is crazy...I wish someone can tell us first hand what is happening.
