Arenal Reserve Sky Walk or Hanging Bridges?

I would appreciate opinions about how the Sky Walk compares with the Hanging Bridges in Arenal. Which is longer, more adventurous and offers the best scenery? Also,if we do one of these, what, if anything, is gained from doing Aerial Tram as well?

Thank!
Bernice

We visited CR for the first time last month-- loved our trip (despite almost constant rain). Didn't do Sky Walk (don't even know where it is), but we did do Hanging Bridges in Arenal (and at Rainmaker near MA). We specifically did not want anything too "adventurous"--e.g. not interested in zip lines. I have a fear of heights and wondered if I'd be able to do any of these things. In fact, we both loved Hanging Bridges. They were totally unscary (the ones at Rainmaker were a bit more daunting), but they were also wonderful: beautiful scenery, lots of new things to see, especially with a guide (inexpensive and worth it in our view). Hanging Bridges walk took maybe a leisurely 2 hours; Rainmaker maybe 3, with a very pleasant lunch included. Have fun!

The hanging bridges in Arenal and the Sky Walk in Monteverde are pretty close to being the same type of "adventure".

You walk over suspension bridges and look down over the canyon and rainforest areas below.

You may or may not see any birds or animals.
Saw a Quetzel in Monteverde on a tree with her mate about 90 feet away,..could not get any closer, since I was on the walking bridge.

In my opinion there is nothing to be gained by the Aerial Tram Brauli Carillo National Park.

If a cruise ship comes into the Puerto Limon port on the Caribbean side, you could have a long wait at the Aerial Tram, because the people from the cruise ship get preference on the Tram !!!

You might want to look at the new Sky Trek set up in the Arenal area.
You can ride up to the first platform on an Aerial tram. From there you have 3 options of getting back to the beginning....1 zip line, 2 take tram back, 3 hike on trail.

This has something for everybody.

For photos and a diagram of various ways to do it check out the following site...

Thanks Percy and Jessie. We will not be visiting Monteverde, just Arenal so our choice will be between Hanging Bridges or one of the options offered by Sky Trek in Arenal. Jessie, thanks for the website information - very helpful. We're looking for the most peaceful, quietest, most scenic rainforest experience available in Arenal. -- I don't think we're into the zipline thrill. If we were to choose between Hanging Bridges or the hike back down offered by Skytrek, which would you choose? Thanks again!
