RAC, just a note, for us it was about balancing out the trip with the kids. We were at Bosque del Cabo for five days and saw a ton of wildlife, so for them the pool was the thing in Los Lagos. I find when you travel with little ones sometimes you just have mix it up more for them and also throw them a bone every now and then!

Well, most kids like pools and most kids like animals, so a little variety is good for everyone, right? We've had a fabulous time everywhere we've stayed so far in CR. In fact, my daughter's favorite is the area we spent the least money and spent the most time with locals, Puerto Viejo.

AOL is not too far from town, but once you turn off the main road, it's another 20 minute, very bumpy ride up to AOL. We started timing ourselves each time, and I think the quickest we did the bumpy road was 16 minutes :) We are pretty sure that is where we lost a hubcap!

I would say it took about 30 minutes to get to La Fortuna so you definitely want to plan your days so that you aren't doing it multiple times in one day.
