Arenal Hanging Bridges Early AM Birdwatching Tour Questions

Has anybody taken the 6:00 a.m. birdwatching tour offered by the Hanging Bridges preserve? Would like opinions on it. Did the tour go through the entire bridge route? Also, we would be using their shuttle transportation. If we want to stay after the tour, can we get back to La Fortuna using their shuttle later in the day? Has anyone done this? On a practical note, will the restrooms be available at the park entrance (since tour is before the normal opening time?)

Grateful for any info by people who have done it.

Did you actually book it through the Hanging Bridges themselves or through a specific tour company?

I haven't booked it yet. I was planning to try to book it with Hanging Bridges itself. I was under the impression the tour companies do not do the 6:00 a.m. tour because the park is not yet open. I thought the tour was only offered by Hanging Bridges itself with their guide. Is this right?

They have an e-mail address on their website, so I would just e-mail them all your questions. I hadn't heard of actually pre-booking with them until now. I think the park usually opens to the public at 7:30 so they may be the only ones that offer such an early tour.

We usually use Sunset Tours for our birding/wildlife guides. I know they do a Hanging Bridges tour, but not sure what times. Zender is an excellent guide if you're looking for one. He took us out by the lake one morning at 5:30 a.m. and we've also used him for the Cano Negro tour - he's an amazing guide and really fun and personable.

The tour is also offered on http://www.arenal.net/tour/hanging-bridges/ I would think that other tour companies/hotels could book for you as well. I tried to book directly thru Hanging Gardens several years ago and they just told me to book it w/my hotel. vg is right, I would just email them and ask.
