Arenal and then either Tango Mar and Uvita or Uvita and Lookout Inn
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Narrowed it down to two itineraries!
1. Nayara Hotel and Gardens in Arenal- 2 nights 2. Tango Mar beach hotel near Tambor on South Nicoya - 3 nights 3. Oxygen hotel- near Uvita- 3 nights or 1. Nayara Hotel and Gardens in Arenal- 2 nights 2. Oxygen Hotel near Uvita- 3 nights 3. Lookout Inn- Carate- 3 nights Here are the deciding factors: I want a few days at a beatiful beach. I want to see loads of wildlife. And this only works if its possible to see Corcovado from Uvita. At Oxygen they have Corcovado as a tour, but is it super super far? Sorry, I keep posting but I dont seem to be able to figure this out and get a clear answer so I thought I would just put the main points in one post. My thing is that the beach at Tango Mar looks ideal. The jungle at Oxygen looks amazing and if you can see Corcovado from there, then I am wondering if there is a need to stay closer to Corcovado? Does it make a huge difference to stay right near the park or just fine to go there for one day? Someone please help me with this! |

I looked into Tango Mar a while back too but the town itself doesn't really appeal to me. If the hotel and beach are most important factor maybe not a deciding factor for you. In about 40 minutes you can be in Montezuma which to me seems to have much more character.
How do you plan on getting from place to place? Flying or driving? |
driving. Im actually looking at Ylang Ylang now. Im thinking of just leaving out Arenal. I know everyone goes there, but Im much more into beach and my fiance is really into wildlife so I feel that maybe Arenal is not necessary. Ylang Ylang would give us great beach and then Uvita and Drake Bay would give great wildlife and jungle experience.

Not everyone is into Arenal so do what you want! I've seen enough volcanoes in my lifetime so I don't bother with them anymore. For me it's beaches and jungle. We stayed just south of Dominical in an awesome villa and it was perfect!

Ylang Ylang is awesome. Great choice.
If you want to see wildlife in Arenal, stay at the Observatory lodge--monkeys, parrots, toucans. We even saw a wild cat--jaguarundi--on the lodge grounds. |
