Are we crazy to go in February?

We are thinking of celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in Buenos Aires and Iguazu Falls. Anniv. is Feb. 9 and it looks like it could be very hot and humid at that time.
We want some heat as we are escaping winter in NY, but not too much to be uncomfortable. Any suggestions? Thanks. Sue

Travel to our South.

Research Bariloche and Villa La Angostura, for instance.

The temperature should be perfect.

Have a great time in our country.

Yes, BAires can be hot in February but we actually find NYC in August way more uncomfortable. Book a hotel with a pool, its great to cool off in the afternoon. Go when you can; BAires is fantastic, especially when its warm there and cold up here. Tengo

There is a real summer vibe in February in BA. People are in that summer mode. It is hard to describe but it is different than going to a place that always has warm weather. I have been to Buenos Aires twice in February and it was great. We went to Montevideo for a night and stayed at a beach resort area called Pocitos. We wish we had had more time there. You will enjoy going especially when it is winter in New York. I say go for it!

I agree with idea to go south! It is HOT HOT HOT in BA and there a lot of mosquitos in Iguazu at this time!

Another vote for Bariloche, a great place to spend your anniversary. Many fine dining options, tons to do, and sunsets around 10pm in February.

Thanks for the ideas, but how do we get to Bariloche or Villa La Angostura? I definitely do not want to drive.

You fly and then rent a car, Sue.

Its about a 2 hour flight to Bariloche. Since it is your 40th anniversary, my wife did a blog post on romantic Patagonia, you might appreciate.

Thank you all-you have really whetted my appetite for a long trip to Argentina which will include Patagonia. We decided to go elsewhere for our 40th, but I will continue to research and hope to get to Argentina very soon.
