APARTMENT RENTALS ON IPANEMA- COPA?

I'd like to find info about renting a studio-1bd in Ipanema-Copa for a month in Oct. or Nov.
I know I'll have to pay for the utilities from other posts but where can I find apt. rentals?
I don't think a hotel is possible because of the amount of time and the price.
One block from the beach, maybe Arpoador?
I've never been to Rio so I do need help/
I'm a single 58 y/o guy so I don't need to worry about being in bars at midnight until 3 or 4 am.Just enjoy Rio, the beaches and the people.
Thanks to all.

Vince,

There is a website you should check out:

rentaflat.com

(now that I think about it, it might be rentaflat.com.br) Nonetheless they are a reputable agency and have good values... especially now given the currency situation. We all know the dollar will not be worth 4 reais for long!

Copa is nice, most prefer Ipanema, actually I think that adjoining Leblon is the best. Barra is probably the nicest and newest area, but it is a bit of a haul up the coast and well away from the main parts of Rio. Rates and layouts of different apartments in different locations all found on the website above. Happy hunting, and enjoy Rio! I love it, once you go you will be hooked!

Me again. Clarification on the website... it is:

www.rentaflat.com.br

I think it is just what you are looking for. Russ

Vince, here are 2 more options for you to explore if you desire: one is a Brazilian woman who lives in Copacabana, she speaks English, she used to live in New York, one thing she does is rents apartments to gringos. Her name is Vanna you can reach her at [email protected].

Also the famous website www.blameitonrio4travel.com. Bobby has pictures and will rent you an apartment, if you don't know him he is an American from NY living in Rio, he will take care of you also.

Russ, unfortunately the real hasn't been 4 to the dollar in weeks, today it is about 3.64 to the dollar and from what I hear the cambios in Rio are only giving 3.3 to the dollar. You would probably get a better rate if you use a debit/credit card but no matter which way you cut it Brazil is a bargain now.
