Anyone stay at Belizean Princess, Ramon's budget alternative?

Loved the look of Xanadu, but they are booked
Thinking of staying at Ramon's Village, I will be traveling with my husband and 2 teenage daughters.
What I like about Ramon's is the close proximity to town and tropical feel (thatched hut style rooms) and reportedly a nice beachfront. Being a mile or less to town appeals to me.

I just noticed they have a budget alternative called Belizean Princess across the street. Has anyone seen or stayed in these units? Or have feedback about Ramon's Village?

The Princess cabins are across the street from Ramon's Village and cute, but not on the beach. I'd opt for Ramons on the beach or somewhere less $ on the beach

I second Katie. Stay at Ramon's and, most importantly, do not stay in a "garden" room, they are generally set back amongst vegetation and are quite gloomy. The beachfront rooms, OTOH, are quite good.

Also, do not get a meal plan, other than breakfast. Too many other good restaurants within hailing distance.

Unless you really want that thatched cabana 'feel', consider looking next door to Ramon's at the Palms. Nice condos, you'll have much more room, and can still use Ramon's beach (not their loungers though). The Palms has a small pool, and a great staff.
