Anyone return recently?
We have not traveled in over two years. Frankly, I have barely left my house in two years. As you can see from my Osa post, thinking of going there (been to Costa Rica before and would like to go to Osa). I see Costa Rica is a red, high-level Covid for travel. Anyone return recently and give insight? Thanks.

An aquaintance was recently there. They brought some rapid antigen test kits with them, so they could self-test negative unofficially before going in for the official one.

Great idea. My friend is there now and the numbers are coming down. Fingers crossed. Seems like travel now may be take advantage of windows between surges until we figure out how to come together and deal with a pandemic.

I am going end of March but my friend just came back from a resort at Arenal and both of her parents tested positive and are sick with Covid (not serious but like the flu and they are 80 and vaccinated). :serious:

Costa Rica numbers are still high for a country of their size....fully vaxxed rate low. And yes people are testng ++in advance of hoping to travel home. They do not require vax to enter the country and never have.

Luckily the numbers are going down very fast right now. https://graphics.reuters.com/world-c...es/costa-rica/
National Geographic recently wrote that Osa is struggling without the tourist dollar this past two years. |
Never Thought of Leaving Costa Rica. Great Climate Landscape Parties Women Food.

We recently visited for a two week stay and loved every minute of it. Perfectly safe and it's a wonderful vacation. Travel and enjoy!

I just returned from Drakes Bay and it was great. My only issue is I brought the WRONG kind of COVID test. If you want to avoid the craziness of getting the airport COVID test and then the disaster of Verifly (the worst app in the world) bring the type of home Covid test where you video call in. You can go on to the travel site to read the brands they take. For us, there are no testing sites in Drakes Bay so we had to use the airport (and thankfully got there early enough to do that).
