OK thanks, Cano Negro is another one we had considered. That one sounds really good to me. I think my wife wants to do a zipline. Heck why not all three of them? It is only money!

I did the ziplines at Selvatura in Monteverde. I am very afraid of heights and don't go on rides at amusement parks, so I wasn't planning to do the ziplines. But my kids and husband were going, and I thought it might be good for me to push past my comfort level. I'm glad I did it, but only because I was able to do something that scared me. I can't say I enjoyed the actual experience! I don't think I would do it again.

At least at Selvature, there was no "drop" to speak of, so it wasn't a falling feeling. The scary part for me was waiting on the platforms, knowing there was no way to get off the platform except on the zipline. I had to fight some mild panic about that a couple/few times. So, there was some satisfaction in grappling with my fears and having everything turn out okay. But it wasn't fun for me. I was happy when it was over. OTOH my husband and kids thought it was incredibly fun and probably would have done it every day if they could have.

suzzyyq's experience is something that really shouldn't happen. The guides are there sending you off and receiving you on the next platform and making sure you brake at the right time. They also should offer instruction before the tour begins so you will know exactly how to work with them. At least that's the way it is supposed to work. . .

I didn't zipline in Jamaica but my friend did and he liked it. Unfortunately one lady on our cruise ziplined and they said there weren't signs that told patrons to raise their legs high approaching the platforms. She didn't and slammed her legs on the concrete. Needless to say, she came back to the cruise badly injured. It's just something to watch out for.
