I haven't found any reviews of the first place on TA. I've found a few of the second but was wondering if anyone else here has stayed there.

Neither of these names ring a bell, but maybe someone here has heard of them. You'll find that there tends to be a list of hotels that people recommend over and over again on this forum. I usually stick with those and have never been disappointed, but that's certainly not to say that there aren't other worthy places to stay...

So true, I post mostly on the Africa forum and it's the same way and it's not just Fodors either. Not that there's anything wrong with the recommended places. They're usually recommended for a reason. I just find the narrow focus frustrating sometimes. OK mini rant over ;)
