Any new insight re LACSA or TACA airlines?

Did a search for info on LACSA and TACA airlines but most of the the threads were from 2002-2005...
Has anyone flown on these airlines lately? we're flying from SFO and LAX to San Jose, Costa Rica in April. They seem to have the lowest fare and most direct flights to SJO.
Thanks!

We recently flew with LACSA/TACA from Guatemala City to Quito, Ecuador, with a brief stop in San Jose. This was our first experience with the airline and we were very impressed - friendly and efficient staff, very clean and modern aircraft (unlike some South American airlines), and on-time departure. We would have no hesitation in flying with them again.

There really is no more LACSA airlines. It was all absorbed into the El Salvador-based TACA several years ago. Some of the flights to and from Costa Rica will be designated as "LACSA" flights, but they are all TACA planes and crews.

I find them to be fine. I have no hesitation about flying with TACA.

Several of my friends have flown here (CR) from LAX and they have all commented on TACA - how clean they are, great service etc. I fly them frequently and personally think they are better than any of the major airlines in the states.

Thanks everyone.... however I couldn't wait and made reservations with AA - they have a direct flight from LAX to SJO - although, we still have to fly SFO/LAX.
Maybe next time we'll try TACA - thanks anyway!
