When our daughter was little, we went to The Office late in the afternoon. Everyone was pretty buzzed by then and some of the shenanigans were not appropriate for a child. It is fine earlier in the day or for adults. Medano Beach are is fine and fun.

Funny Michelle~ even as an adult I felt the same way! The Office was a lovely place for breakfast, but when I walked by later in the day wasn't anyplace I'd want to hangout myself -haha.

I didn't much like the looks of the bars in Cabo either (compared to Puerto Vallarta) like Squid Row or Cabo Wabo, when I peaked in from the street -haha.

But that kind of 'spring break' behavior and atmosphere was extremely easy to avoid and didn't in any way ruin my impression of Cabo San Lucas overall as a great place to visit.

We're here now in CSL at the bungalow hotel. We're enjoying it and I think it was a good choice for us, especially since we have a car. And as the reviews state Eric the owner couldn't be more lovable and the breakfasts are wonderful. The sun is brutal so walking is difficult. Found parking for $20 pesos near tabascos on medano beach. Only yesterday there was fondo de mar which was a little tricky. Huge waves!!! I parked myself near tabascos but my daughter and husband walked up the beach and said it was very spring breakish. But we liked our part of the beach.
So far we ate at missiones de kino, las mariscadas and Neptuno around the corner from our hotel and loved them all. took a day trip to Cerritos beach and dos santos. Loved how clean the ocean was there and enjoyed swimming although really a surfer beach. Would have loved dos santos had they not been repaving the entire town. Poor shop and restaurant owners. No tourists!! Guess it will be beautiful for the winter holidays. Today we are debating if it's worth the long drive back and forth to la Paz to check out some other beaches or perhaps a shorter drive to Santa Maria beach.

I love the town of La Paz but the beaches aren't all that fantastic and the nicest ones are outside of town to the north and south.

Go to Santa Maria for snorkeling. Then San Jose for a bite.

I know it wasn't the sanest thing to do but we ended up driving to la Paz ( leaving at 11am which was even nuttier) just to spend the afternoon at balandra beach. Even though it was crazy, the beach was something to see ( no waves' crystal clear and you can walk forever in the sea) Stopped at a deserted beach on the pacific to watch the sunset on the way back. Unforgettable!!! Wish we had had time to do more but we were concerned about driving back in the dark. And it's a good thing because we did see some cows on the highway.

Thinking about The Bungalows for 4 or 5 nights in mid May. Any more details about the hotel?

Also, is a car necessary? We would prefer to not rent one if we can help it.

Thanks

(I know this is a few months old, hoping lasagna will see it topped and post)

You would probably not need a car. Taxis are always available.

No a car would definitely not be necessary staying at The Bungalows.
