Any Adventure Tips

Hi. I've been to Cancun and loved it and I'm going back in December. I would like to have more of an adventure though. I was thinking maybe renting a car and driving to different destinations and then staying overnight. I'm flying into Cancun - does anybody have any suggestions about great places to go and see and also about where to stay once I get there. I'm traveling alone so it has to be relatively safe. Thanks alot.

Rebecca: I'm currently in the process of acquiring information on Isla Holbox, an island off the coast of Cancun. It is very non-touristy. Perhaps we can share information that we gather. Your thoughts???

Hi John: I haven't heard of that island. How small - how remote - like do they have electricity? Those are things to ask - I've found out. But sure - love to trade info. Are there any areas you are interested in other than that - I might know something or be able to find out for you. I was thinking of going to Merida for a day or two. I've heard it is very nice and historical.

Hello -

I think a drive out to Merida woould be very nice. On the way, you could stop at Chichen Itza, then hit Merida. From Merida, you could go to Ixmal, and some of the other Puuc Hills ruins sites.

This could easily be accomplished in three or four days.

Howard

Thanks Howard. Do you have any suggestions for hotels? Do I need to make reservations before hand or do you think it's safe to just go and see.
