An Afternoon In Guadalajara
A visit to birthplace of “The Nectar Of The Gods” shows there's a lot more to see and discover in Jalisco, Mexico than “Tequila”.
On a beautiful afternoon with pleasant temperatures and clear blue skies I hop on a Tapatio Tours “Big Red Bus” and for less than US$7 I get an excellent overview of Guadalajara. From seeing many of the city highlights to enjoying a popular “Torta Ahogada”, this tour turns out to be a pleasant surprise. I am looking forward to returning to Guadalajara and enjoying more of this city and maybe even a few more sips of... Tequila! Video:https://youtu.be/0IbtZhvw9qs |
I do not drink but always enjoyed this fine city with excellent shopping, lovely plazas/parks, a fine zoo, a wonderful Mexican ballet w/theater & excellent hotels.
Sundays on the main plaza is a delight as is the carragir rides, museums & much else. |
Stewbear,
Guadalajara definitely was a pleasant surprise. I hope I get the chance to visit again. |
Thanks for that. I'd like to go there and maybe combine with a few days on the beach.
Were you connecting there for an onward destination? Just curious why you only spent a day there. |
<and maybe combine with a few days on the beach>
Many people combine it with Puerto Vallarta (a 5 hour bus ride away). |
Or less than a hour's plane flight. WE still chuckle about my than GF now wife on our first trip PV to Guadalajara being nervous as the Pilot cut back the engines to slow down after clearing the mountains. She looked at me asking "Are we Stopping"
