All Inclusives ?

We are thinking about going to Belize ? Typically stay in All Inclusives ? Are there any resorts like this in Belize ? If so, are all inclusives a good idea in Belize ?

I have booked an all inclusive in the Cayo area called the Mopan River Resort - its everything incl drinks and taxes etc. Am going in a couple of months, but am looking forward to not having to worrying about money for the time I am there. Anyone have any comments on the MRR?

I would recommend a text search for Mopan River Resort. If I remember correctly, when we were planning our trip to Belize back in March, I remember reading some posts on this place.

You may want to look into what guarantee the resort offers for your safety. I have heard of some very bad attacks and numerous murders in that area. Some resorts have armed guards with dogs to keep vacationers safe. Not the kind of place I would want to spend my vacation! Good Luck! But please check out what I'm saying! I read this on other postings, no first hand knowledge.

We stayed at Rum Point Inn in Placencia.
It was incredible. A good number of resorts are AI, as not much options in the area as very rural (and beautiful).
A hurricane came through last fall though and might have made some damage.
Rum Point Inn is owned by some American ex-pat's. Also, I understand Francis Ford Coppola has a some b&b type place near Placencia as well, that's rec'v some good reviews.
Good luck (and good choice of Belize)
