All inclusive Belize for a family?

Any suggestions for a resort or hotel...all inclusive in Belize for December? We like hotels or resorts that feel more boutique like. We are not a family that does great with an Atlantis type property.

Belize isn't really an all-inclusive sort of place; mainly the only places that offer plans with meals included are the remote ones - jungle lodges or lodges on islands without a town of any kind. There are lots of small and medium hotels, condo places, and rental properties, some with restaurants, many with restaurants within walking or biking or golf cart distance, others more secluded. While most people who come on asking for all inclusives will probably end up on Ambergris Caye, here’s a link from an old forum thread I like with good descriptions of beachy options in Belize:

If you don't have one already, in my opinion you should get your hands on a guidebook and devour it, even an older 1 from your local library would work. They have good historical and cultural background sections and suggested itineraries in addition to travel, tour, food, and lodging specifics. When you have a better idea of what you’re wanting, you can get more updated info from the internet and come back with more specific questions so we can help you better.

In the mean time here's a link to my photos with blog, travelogue, and review links on the main page of each collection - all my recommendations are embedded there. Happy planning!

We did a combination of Victoria House on Ambergris for beach time and Chaa Creek for jungle time. Victoria House is not all inclusive but has a restaurant on site and also a more casual bar type restaurant that had good food. Prices have gone up quite a bit since we stayed there, but we loved it.

Of course, no problem. I'd also recommend going to Hol Chan if snorkeling interests you at all. We saw big sea turtles, rays, nurse sharks, and beautifully colored fish there. There's sea grass off a lot of places in Belize, but once you get away from shore there can be great visibility.
