Alaska Air to Mexico

Neither here nor there, but looking at the Alaska website for Seattle to PV or Mazatlan in the next few months, they're showing weekend flights that require an OVERNIGHT in San Fran or LA before continuing. Obviously I'm not going to do this, but wondered if anyone else has noticed these routings or has a reasonable explanation. Just curious.

hhhmm, I just checked random dates in January and they all are direct and early...but then checked straight from LAX and even some of them go thru SFO and have an overnight....yes weird....

Those flights often came up when I was booking my flight from PDX to PV.

It's curious in that I've booked this route in these same months for the past 10+ years. Sometimes having to change planes, sure, but sometimes scoring a true nonstop... never having to spend the NIGHT for a ticket with flying time of only 5-6 hours total!

Yep, southern oregon to cancun means mandatory overnight on return.
