Airfares between Kansas City and Costa Rica
I'm just starting to plan a trip for us this coming winter to Costa Rica. I think DH knows mostly where he wants to stay, so right now I am focused on deciding exactly when, and looking at fares. I have a little flexibility for this trip, although so far I am not seeing a lot of difference in fares between January and February.
From Kansas City to San Jose, I mostly see $732 to $794. Does anyone have any tips on airlines/fares? It looks like Delta or United mostly are the best schedules from here. So I guess I am looking to see if I am missing anything, and if one of you has any magic ideas on getting the best fares/schedules. These aren't bad, I just don't know if I could do better. It's about what I paid for DH 's ticket last summer. |
yoo hoo, anyone?

Hi, T - I'm not much help with fares because we usually fly for free on miles on United. That's higher than what we would pay coming from our area, but since you're in a different part of the country it's hard for me to say. I hope you find a good one.

Thanks VG. I am really not seeing much variation, so I'm guessing between 7 and 8 hundred is probably about right. Like I said, that's what I paid last year for my husband, so that seems to be about right. I probably will wait a month or so before buying, just sort of checking regularly.
Busy reading reports now :-) |
Do you ever use Kayak? You can search most of the airlines, plus set up a daily or weekly email alert for your preferred dates.
We fly out of Minneapolis, and we've paid a range of $550 - $750 for flights. In the past, I've seen airfares to Central America drop a bit in September, although I never saw it happen last September. Maybe this year it will. |
Thank you for the tips janenicole. So funny, right before I logged in I was thinking I should setup alerts!
Seems like I ought to have similar fares out of KC as MN, so I will monitor. |
