AI with Kids Stay & Eat Free??

Hello,

Planning a trip to Mexico with the family. Wife, hubby & 4 kids (2,3,8 & 11). I'm trying to find an AI that allows kids to stay & eat free, or some other comparable deal. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Usually kids under a certain age are free. The 8 & 11 y.o. will probably have to pay somehting. Also most hotels only allow 4/room, so you'd need 2 rooms, unless you can find an AI with villa type rentals.

There are dozens of AIs in the playa Del Carmen area, and most are very family friendly. You may want to get some suggestions here of ghood places and see how they can accommodate your family.

Kids 10 and under can stay and eat for free at The Hotel Reef Yucatan, one per paying adult. They have group rates, too, for families, and lots of adjoining rooms. You can see their website at http://www.reefyucatan.com

We went to the Iberostar Paraiso Maya in Riviera Maya in November with our 1-year old and had an absolutely wonderful time. It is an awesome resort for families and I would HIGHLY recommend it.

The resort shares the same grounds and pools as the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo... we toured a room while there and it is very similar to the Maya, but will save you about $500 for the week. There is a great wave pool and lazy river, in addition to lots of other great pools. There are about 10 restaurants to choose from and you can actually have nice sit-down meals vs. buffets (Japanese steakhouse, Italian, Chinese, Steakhouse, etc.).

They also have a kids club/camp for kids ages 4+. You do have to pay a different rate for kids 4+, but the 2-year-old would be free. If the 2-year-old is still in a crib, you could fit all of you in one room. If not, you might ask if they'd let you have a rollaway, but you may have to get two rooms. You can get lots of great info about the resorts at www.iberostar-board.com. We plan to go back again this November!

We found the best pricing though www.traveloni.com -- they sold us the hotel portion of our trip via FunJet and discounted it an additional 5%.

There is a website locogringo.com that has a lot of info on the Riviera Maya and all inclusives. We went to Akumal but didn't stay in an all-inclusive, so I can't recommend one. It might help to narrow down the area that you want (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Akumal/Tulum).
