AI for 2 families in Cozumel

We are two families traveling to Cozumel in mid July. We have 4 kids ranging in age from 10-19 and have decided an AI will probably be the best for us because of the kids.

I have been looking at El Cozumeleno. Does anyone know anything about this resort? Would you recommend a different one instead?

I am also interested in hearing what your suggestions for the best things to do and see in Cozumel are. We have never been.

The kids want to snorkel, fish, kayak. The adults are up for just about anything.

Thank you in advance for your help!
Debbie

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Thanks

Debbie: I agree that with children, AI is probably the best way to go. El Coz is an okay hotel. I would suggest either the Occidental Allegro or Grand (newer) if you are going to do an AI.

Jaycie99,

Thank you for the info on the Allegro and the Grand.

Any input on what are the best things to do and see in Cozumel?

Thank you

Debbie, Contact me at [email protected] and I will send you my Things to See and Do in Cozumel fact sheet. I agree with Jaycie, Occidentals are much better than Cozumeleno. Kids will have more fun. Would probably pick Allegro as more casual for kids, but Grand is newer and very nice. There are also many great private condos with 2-3-4-5 bedrooms and bath on the island. One that would be good size for your group and is on an excellent beach for snorkeling (there is also a day beach here with lots of toys to rent) is Villa Alegria http://www.cozumel.tc/rental-homes-l...a-alegria.html

When we stay in Cozumel, we mainly dive so I can't give you much advice on what to see and do. We rarely go into town much except for a day or two for shopping. We usually take the ferry to PDC one day where my husband goes skydiving and I shop around or lay on the beach.
