Sherry -

Just got back from Playa Del Carmen and we seemed to think that fish is much more common than shrimp and good lobster in this area. We have stayed at two All-Inclusives now (one of which was in Playa) and only saw fish available, lobster in playa was about 14 dollars more per person at one of the hotel restaurants. However if you take the ferry over to Cozumel I read in the 2002 Frommers Cancun, Yucatan book that there is a restaurant that serves nothing but lobster. It was recommended, we didnt get a chance to go to Cozumel though. It is called Cabana Del Pescador (lobster house) it says its about 15- $30 per person and they dont take Credit Cards. It is across from Playa Azul Hotel. The book was pretty good, I would suggest checking it out.
