Adopt an animal donation?

Hi, all - does anyone know a good place to do one of those adopt an animal donations? The ones where you donate money to go toward wildlife conservation or preservation of a specific animal species and you get a photo and certificate to give as a gift? I'd like to give this as a gift to an animal lover and would love any specific recommendations that you have. I was thinking of toucans, but open to other ideas too. Thanks for any help you can give me!

vc, a toucan is a spectacular idea! Also, look up the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand where we volunteered two winters ago. It's a fabulous place where they rescue abused elephants and abandoned dogs. You can adopt an elephant!

vg - may be mixing you up, but aren't you in TX? Houston has one - http://www.houstonzoo.org/support-th...opt-an-animal/

In general - WWF is a good one I think.

A slightly different take but a good one is Oxfam - https://www.oxfamamericaunwrapped.co...aign=unwrapped

Hi ya!

I'm not sure about who to get a toucan certificate from. Sorry. Otherwise you can have a look at the Galapagos Conservation Trust? Or maybe Rainforest Concern - I have a certificate from an area of cloudforest I sponsored some years ago…

Thanks, guys - these are great ideas. cat, wow, that sounds amazing! tully, I checked out WWF, and they give a really nice little stuffed animal along with a certificate, photo, and other things - looks like that would make a great gift. I'll check out all the other suggestions too. I really appreciate the help. I like the idea of the donation going toward some sort of conservation. I'd love to visit the Toucan Rescue Ranch someday.
