Activities-Arenal, Monteverde & Manual Antonio

Two adults leaving in 12 days for Arenal, Monteverde, Manual Antonio and Osa Peninsula 3-4 days in each location. We plan to wing it for the daily activities, but would love to hear recommendations for each location. Planning on lots of hiking, zip lines, night tours, lounging at beaches, etc. Also, any recommendations on restaurants would be great - we love all kinds of food.

i dont like ziplines/ enviromentally bad!!/ so cant help u there, but in La Fortuna-Arenal the best day trip is Cano Negro Reserve. you should also visit the waterfall- La Catarata- the hot springs.

In Monteverde visit Santa Elena Reserve, less people than Monteverde Reserve:

Hi Lolie,

We did Pure Trek Canyoning in Arenal.
Very scary to "just step back and off and down 168 feet" for first rapel in my life... very intense, very wet (waterfalls ....), and another life experience notch on the post....

After that, zip lines were a breeze, literally.
Arenal Paraiso, great views, lots of distance, go upside down, fly like an eagle, all that stuff... I loved this for 45$ for a couple of hours. Definitely take your own camera, and make a movie while flying from one platform to next... don't worry, you will not drop your camera!

In MA, we did a raft trip of the Naranjo river thru Rios Tropicales booked thru our hotel. The river was low, and not very exciting. Class III was more like class II. Hike more in the National Park, or go deep sea fishing, or just lounge on the beach and drink umbrella drinks (we took our own bottle of rum to spice up the drinks a bit.... oops?) I loved the beach, and even under the umbrella you need sunscreen, watch out.

Didn't go to OSA or MV. Have a great time. Take a collapsable cooler for icing down some Imperials....

PS there is ample parking at MA national park and the public beach area for $2. Lots of great restaurants, etc..... right there....
