Accomodation recommendations for Tortuguero
Hi,
My husband and I are planning a trip to CR Sept and want to stay in Toruguero for 3 nights (9/7-9/10). We are on a budget and would like to keep accomodations under $100 night or better. I have looked at Mawamba lodge wich looks pricey but great. Is it worth the money? I have also looked at www.tortuguerovillage.com which looks to have some reasonable accomodations. We are also looking into taking a rafting trip with Exploradores so we can easily transfer to Tortuguero and experience a day of fun in the process. Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Shasta |
Laguna Lodge and Turtle Beach Lodge are also popular if you want to check them out.

Thanks- I think we are going to stay at Casa Marbella to save a litte money :)

The rafting should beca blast. I assume you are doing the Pacuare raft/ x-fer which is a blast and the scenery is gorgeous. Casa Marbella should be good although if you can swing the cost of staying at a lodge outside of town you might have a better chance of wildlife and trails to hike. There's really not much to the town itself.

shasta, I hope you'll report back on Casa Marbella. I haven't heard much about it, but it seems to get good reviews. Do they have a dining area there? Agree with hip that there isn't much to the town. I have heard Miss Junie's is a good spot to enjoy a meal.
