Accomodation recommendations for Tortuguero

Hi,
My husband and I are planning a trip to CR Sept and want to stay in Toruguero for 3 nights (9/7-9/10). We are on a budget and would like to keep accomodations under $100 night or better.

I have looked at Mawamba lodge wich looks pricey but great. Is it worth the money?

I have also looked at www.tortuguerovillage.com which looks to have some reasonable accomodations.

We are also looking into taking a rafting trip with Exploradores so we can easily transfer to Tortuguero and experience a day of fun in the process.

Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Shasta

Laguna Lodge and Turtle Beach Lodge are also popular if you want to check them out.

The rafting should beca blast. I assume you are doing the Pacuare raft/ x-fer which is a blast and the scenery is gorgeous. Casa Marbella should be good although if you can swing the cost of staying at a lodge outside of town you might have a better chance of wildlife and trails to hike. There's really not much to the town itself.

shasta, I hope you'll report back on Casa Marbella. I haven't heard much about it, but it seems to get good reviews. Do they have a dining area there? Agree with hip that there isn't much to the town. I have heard Miss Junie's is a good spot to enjoy a meal.
