acapulco or playa del carmen
 

i am planning a trip back to mexico, last year we went to cancun and loved every minute of it. so this year i would like to return to mexico but see a different part. i would like acapulco but i'm not concerned with the parties. i want some great beaches and interseting activities. what do you guys suggest?

Haven't been to Acapulco in 30 years but I'm biased towards PDC anyway. There's so much to do and the beaches are great.

I'd go to PDC too. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of bad press about Acapulco. Do a forum search and you'll find it.
I was in PDC last month, and it's looking better than ever...

I'd cboose Playa del Carmen for myself

Acapulco is not a relaxing vacation destination. It is quite polluted and has had problems with drug gang assassinations.
If you want to explore the Pacific coast of Mexico, Puerto Vallarta or Mazatlan are much nicer.
