A Quieter Puerta Vallarta?
We tried to book Quinta Maria Cortez for January but it was full and we're looking for something similar...on the beach, walking distance to town (20-30 minutes), not a large hotel complex, and up to $250/night. Would appreciate any suggestions. There's only two of us, so a villa isn't practical.
Thanks. |
try Villa Premier located right on the beach and within walking distance town, I have never stayed but heard it was very nice sounds like what you are looking for. Good luck

Try 'Vallarta Shores' is at the very south end of Los Muertos, quiet and lovely.
Villa Premiere is a great place, but it IS a resort and in the Hotel Zone which is a very busy area. Knowing you were interested in Quinta Maria Cortez (love that place!), I'm not sure it's quite what you are wanting. If you were willing to give up being right on the beach, that would open up lots more places like Casa Isabela, etc. Honestly Quinta Maria Cortez is unique in Vallarta, and I can't think of anywhere else that is truly similar, unfortunately. suerte, Suze |

Thanks so much to both of you for your suggestions. I'll look into them. Do either of you know anything about Linda Mar Resort on Conchas Chino beach? I know it's a big hotel, but it looked to be rather quiet and the beach looked nice. Would I be within walking distance to downtown from there? Thanks.

A very small but great beach with possibly the best snorkeling in PV. I stayed there back in the late 90's using a friends time share points loving it. |
Terrific; thank you!

I think it's Lindo Mar(?)
Funny, actually I thought of that exactly after I posted here & was reading over on the Trip Advisor PV forum where that hotel gets great remarks. |
Thank you, Suze, we did book at Lindo Mar and I think it will be perfect for us since we want to do some snorkling and be out of the main frenzy of the hotel scene, tho able to walk downtown. I appreciate everyone's responses. Will do a trip report when I return home in February.

Though I haven't stayed there, I love that southern part of the beach. Down around El Set. A little bit removed but still so convenient for getting into town. Please do let us know how things turn out. Have a great trip!

Nancy walking to Old Town is Iffy except along the beach then some climbing is required. The Road is very busy, a bit narrow & with curves. Good News is the bus stops right in front so it's a breeze!
|
Agreeing with the above, it took me about 40-60 mins. walking from Los Muertos down to El Set (been there done that). It's fun, but is more of a hike than a stroll! For usual purposes you'd catch the bus or a taxi.

Glad to know this before I started on my way...I'll do the bus.
You guys are so great to take the time to give me all this info. Thanks so much! |
