A/C in Osa in November ?
Hi,
I'd like to go to Casa Corcovado (Osa) in the end of November. Just like any eco-lodge in Osa, it is not air-conditioned. How bad will it be ? I live in NYC and we sometimes have very humid, uncomfortable summer days when we use A/C 24/7. They do have fans in Casa Corcovado, though. Thanks for response. |
I suspect it's hot on the Osa peninsula year round. We were at Aguila de Osa in February, and it was hot. Lots of open windows and ceiling fans and we were fine. But,if you are really uncomfortable in high heat and humidity, the Osa may not be for you. I live in the midwest and can't wait for the heat to arrive. Rarely us the A/C at home, so were quite comfortable there.

Hi,
I grew up just outside of NYC and know what you mean by those hot, humid, miserable summer days when the air just hangs there and you have trouble seeing through it. I now live in the midwest and like Jean hardly ever turn my a/c on. Casa Corcovado area will be hot and humid but it won't be nearly as bad as those summer days back east. There will always be an ocean breeze, a small wave in the ocean or a waterfall somewhere to make you more comfortable around there. I spend about 1 1/2-2 weeks down on the Osa every year and the afternoons are pretty warm But I find it a perfect time to find a cold drink and a hammock. |
We rented a beachfront private house, Casa Bambu, on the Osa Peninsula in late November. It was very hot and sticky, even with fans. However, you don't really notice when hiking, fishing or kayaking since you would normally sweat doing these activities anyway. Just drink a lot of water and take a few extra showers or cool off in the refreshing waterfalls. An adventure to the Osa Peninsula is worth it!
My travels have included many steamy trips SE Asia and I grew up in hot, humid Florida- currently living in HOT Atlanta. Have a wonderful trip! |
Casa Bambu is located on the Gulfo Dulce which would be a little more humid that time of year due to its location. The rainy season doesn't end until just a little later down there.
