$100US Entry Fee to Chile

Is it true that I will have to pay $100US when I land in Santiago, Chile in addition to the $100US I just forked out for my Brazilian vis
All these tack on fees are mind boggling. Oh, for the good old days!

Yup!

In fairness, these countries are charging U.S. visitors the same fee that their citizens have to pay to apply for a U.S. visa.

The Chilean fee is good for the life of your passport, so I've tried to squeeze in as many trips to Chile as is humanly possible.

I hear you, JudySue. I'm leaving with my husband on Monday for Chile then Brazil so we'll be paying $400 for the two of us just for these two countries.

If you arrive by land (i.e. ex Mendoza, Argentina by bus over the Andes-magic trip!) you do not pay! Or by lake crossing from Bariloche, Argentina.
