Posting photos in text

I have tried adding photos to my posts but can only seem to get it at the beginning of the post. Is there any way to position a photo within a post?

yes, just use the photo icon in the edit box, place the cursor where you want the photo, then click the edit button, do the upload, and repeat as necessary.

Maybe my problem is I can’t figure out what the photo icon looks like. I seem to keep finding myself in “manage attachments”. What or where is the photo icon in the edit box?

The photo icon is the little landscape image -

. . . . OH -- you must have figured it out since you just posted some photos in your TR (really enjoying the read)

I believe you would need to resize your picture to the size that you want before posting. However, another department's tech team is working on a resizing feature which will be released TBA.

If you want to save additional space, you can also delete the photo when quoting a post.

I'd love instructions. Believe me, no one wants to see my cat as HUGE as it came out when I tried to add his photo, at someone's request.

Hey Suze,

You would need to resize your picture with a photo editing tool to the size that you desire. If you're on Windows, you can resize your picture in Paint by clicking on the "Resize" button in the upper left hand corner. If you're on Mac, you can resize your picture by clicking on the picture. Then you go to go to the "Tools" in the upper tool bar and click on "Adjust Size" in the drop down menu.

You can also try other photo editor apps on mobile or photo editing web platforms such as Canva.

Hope this helps.

I found that the picture looked huge when I added it in the edit box but when I previewed the post it looked normal size and when I posted it it came out normal size also, all without resizing. Have you checked by previewing the post to see what size it comes out?

I guess I've forgotten how I did this before, because now I'm having the same problem again. Testing here.

Two more questions. It appears that you can not upload a photo that is in portrait format. The tops are cut off. Is that correct, or is it me?

And do you have to insert photos by first submitting a reply and then going in and editing it? I can't figure out how to place the photo where I want it before I submit the post.

You can upload in any format. Maybe your portrait photo is strangely proportioned, or just too large.

As to placement, use the "picture" icon to place it wherever you want when you make your post.
