Pop up adverts

Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting a lot of fake pop up adverts which close down the page. They usually seem to be pushing Amazon. https://eu.freegiftrazoradvert.icu/u...8101006284049#

I am using an iPad with current iOS 12 software.

Any suggestions?

Hey Crellston,

Does this only happen when you're visiting the forums/Fodor's website or in general?

Only happens when I visit Fodors forums. No problems with any other websites

Gotcha. Can you send over a screenshot to what you see when the ad pops up? Just want to make sure that it's the same. Currently writing up a report about this to our tech team.

I am also getting a similar pop-up as soon as I open a thread on my ipad and I cannot dismiss it without closing down the entire page. Mine varies in that the address is "eu.freegiftsshutterfly.icu" and If I press cancel it still opens the page. I am having to use my PC to access the site.
On the ipad I have cleared history and website data. blocked cookies, turned off the ipad and turned cookies back on but the problem persists.
I do hope that you can sort this soon. Thanks

PS I tried to use the ipad to get onto help and the same happened but the pop up reads slightly differently being for a special prize for UK users only.

Also, can you provide any screenshots that would help us get a better idea of what you're seeing? Thanks!

I am using Safari but the problem seems to have cleared now. If it reoccurs I will try to send you a screenshot.
This also happened about a month ago a couple of times and then stopped but that ad claimed to be from Google and offered a ipad prize.

Hi all,

hijacking ads like these are not something that can ever be 100% eliminated. We work with a 3rd party that helps us minimize them, but from time to time they slip through. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your reports.
