limiting exposure to photos

Again, forgive me if I've missed the answer to this question, but... how can I see only a thumbnail of any photo someone has attached to a thread, or if that isn't an option, avoid seeing the photos at all?

Settings/Edit Options/Thread Display Options
You can only see them or not.

Thanks, elberko, but I had already set my "thread display" options to NOT show photos -- and I'm still seeing them on some threads, such as this one:
Road trip out of Madrid,Spain in February - questions.

Those are videos, not photos.

I don't know; I have photos blocked and still see video thumbnails (as in above thread). The videos don't take nearly as long to load as photos, though, and don't seem to be gigantic.

On my computer, the videos are just as large as photos.

There's no way to block videos from showing.

The problem with the photos is their size. They are GIGANTIC and take over the entire screen.

@ ibobi: thanks for your reply, even if it isn't the news I would have liked. I'm sure your techs have a long list of future projects, but I would appreciate it if you would consider adding this option to the list.

I have an ad blocker, and that takes care of ads -- but posted videos remain a PITA, IMO, even though I know that people mean well by posting them.
