Ibobi, yes! We spent three full days on Lake Nasser visiting all the saved antiquities. They all look perfect where they are located including Abu Simbel. You would never guess that they all had been moved. These were amazing engineering feats.
Donations were sent to Egypt from all over the world, governments too, as these antiquities do belong to the whole world. Egypt is a poor country and never could have saved them without help from others.
This was a favorite part of our trip to Egypt.

Thanks for posting the picture.
I read all about the move of the statues to Abu Simble. I saw many pictures of how they constructed the dome and how they moved the statue after cutting it up into many pieces.

I also saw many picture of before and after the Aswan Dam.

I am so happy that the world contributed to save these very historic structures.

Dear janis, Thank you for your compliment; it was much appreciated. I am completely lost trying to navigate thru this app. Obviously, I had
no idea I was talking to another traveler. Thank you so much for responding to my mistake and I will try again. Regards!

Hope that we're not the only travelers who are digging all these images of places that we have not yet visited, and may never get to see. Fascinating stuff, every last one.
Can never get enough travel photography.

I am done. The end.
