Zwinger on Monday?

We might end up visiting Dresden on a Monday in November. Is the Zwinger closed on Mondays? Thanks.

It is correct that the museums inside the Zwinger are closed on Mondays. However, you can see the building itself and the beautiful courtyard is open. You can even stroll on top of the roofs and walk down into the Nymph's bath. IMO you would not have time to see the museums if you're there for only one day, so it doesn't matter.

Try to see the Frauenkirche inside and if you really want to see a museum go to the Green Vault, vis-a-vis from the Zwinger in the Royal Palace.

Thanks for the info. Do I have access to the Green Vault on a Monday? I'm not clear from what you meant by "vis a vis from the Zwinger in the Royal Palace.
Maybe we'll not go on a Monday, eh?

Well, the Royal Palace is quite large with several wings (and still partly under reconstruction) - and it happened that tourists walked around the whole building and had problems to find the entrance of the Green Vault :-) so I just wanted to give you directions: the entrance of the Green Vault is right across the street from the Zwinger, but of course it is located in the Royal Palace.

The Green Vault is closed on Tuesdays.

In case you are going on a Tuesday you might take a visit of the Picture Gallery Old Masters (in the Zwinger) into consideration.
