Zurich Transporation

We will be arriving Zurich in another month and were wondering about the best travel options from the airport to the Zurich Marriott.

We are older and will have luggage for an extended stay and wondered about the best transportation option.

Thank you in advance to anyone who responds!

The taxi is not cheap, should be 50$ or more, but in your situation I think that it is the best option.

The train is cheap, but with heavy luggage maybe it will be not easy for you.

Transport and approximate cost is always listed on the hotel website. I've stayed at the Marriott Renaissance and took the tram from the airport.

If you are comfortable to walk appr. 600 yards with your luggage, you can take the train from ZRH to Zurich main station.
If not, it's the taxi.

Thank you to all!

Taxi it will be.

Hi ddschur,

You may not know this, but the taxi will be around 50-60 chf (plus more for luggage, I think). If you really want to take a taxi, you should be prepared for that --

(Sorry hit "Submit" too soon)

You may also want to know that it's ultra-easy to take the train. Just pile all your bags onto a luggage trolley at baggage claim, then wheel the trolley all the way down to the basement using either the escalator or the elevators (the trolleys are designed to go on the escalators). Buy your tickets, then head to the tracks. Only at the tracks will you have to deal with your suitcases as you load them onto the train.

Then in Zürich, you just off load your luggage and wheel them to the taxi stand.

Anyway, good luck on your trip!

Seems like the train MIGHT be an option!

Thank you again!

OK so you are "older" doesn't mean you are on death's door.

Here's what you ALSO need to know:

IF you take the train from the airport that jorney is about 15 minutes or so.

When you get of the train you head for the FRONT ENTRANCE of the station and when you get there LOOK TO YOUR RIGHT...you will SEE the Marriott right up the street (less than 10 minutes walk, on sidewalks, and it is ALL FLAT).

IF you have rolling luggage you will NOT, IMO, need a taxi.

APOLOGIES:

when you get out the front entrance to the Zurich train station, LOOK TO YOUR LEFT, NOT your right, sorry.
