Zurich Milan Innsbruck suggestions

We are planning a 12 day trip (honeymoon) to Europe. We are flying into Zurich, and planned on staying there 4 days, then taking the train to Milan for 4 days, then taking the train to Innsbruck for 4 days, then taking the train back to Zurich to fly home. The reason we picked these cities (besides wanting to visit these counties) is because they are in a nice little triangle, all about 4 hours apart by train, so we don't have to waste a whole day on traveling from place to place. I am looking for opinions on Milan...should we go there or go to Lake Como or Verona instead? Or split our 4 days between the three?
Anyy advice about any of this itinerary is welcome!

No one has anything to say? I would've thought I'd have gotten at least a bunch of negatives responses by now! (Why Zurich? Why Milan? Why are you going to these places?) :)

Of course, even better would be something constructive! Anything would help!

If you haven't bought tickets yet I suggest you consider this possibility:
fly into Zurich, then go to Innsbruck (although personally I would do Salzburg if this is your first trip to Austria because I think there MAY be more to see in Salzburg but that's obviously subjective and perhaps inappropriate not knowing your own tastes) and then go to Milan and fly home from Milan rather than back tracking to Zurich.

I love Lake Como, particularly the mid-lake area around Varenna/Menaggio/Bellagio..very relaxing and scenic. BUT, I think it is better "in season" or at least between say April and September (you do not say when you are planning to travel).
Of course, Milan has a lot of nightlife not seen around the lake if that is an issue.

I really don't have major difficulty with your choices because these are the places that YOU WANT to go. But you also don't (yet) say why you picked these particular cities or what sorts of things you might want to experience. Knowing that might bring a few more comments.
Have a wonderful trip.

Ooops, sorry...I apologize..you DID say you had picked these cities because they are fairly close by train and that's true...but a couple more train hours here and there might make a world of difference, too.

I live in Zurich so think coming here is a great idea. You can see the city and also get to places like Lucerne by train in about an hour to see the Alps and get up into higher country. Places like Arosa are also fairly close by train. Summer is great here as it is light so late. The last two summers have been brutally hot (as with most of Europe), so check the weather as you get closer to your departure to determine what kind of clothing to bring. Normally summers here are very temperate, but no one knows what to expect lately. What month are you coming? There is a huge techno pop street festival on the weekend of August 7, so I would avoid Zurich on that weekend.

I also love Lake Como but enjoy Milan so it would be a tough choice. If you want museums, cathedrals and shopping, then go to Milan. If you want scenery and relaxation, go to Como. The train ride from Zurich to either Como or Milan will give you some lovely scenery to look at, as would the ride between Zurich and Innsbruck or Salzburg.

In Austria, both Innsbruck and Salzburg are nice towns, although I agree with JonJon that you would find a bit more to do and see in Salzburg, esp. if you are a music lover. They have concerts all summer, some of them up in the monastery on the hill.

I agree with JonJon about looking into an open jaw ticket flying into Zurich and out of Innsbruck or Milan. This would give you more time in places rather than spending half a day getting back to Zurich, esp. as US flights tend to depart in the morning which means you have to spend one last night in Zurich.

If you can provide details on your hotel budget, people here can suggest hotels.
