Zurich lake

I will be in Zurich in June 2013. I have 2 hours free in the evening. Is it possible to visit Zurich lake during that time.
Are there any boat cruises in lake Zurich. Can swiss pass holder avail these rides

HI, Cha, Could you be more specific? ARe you changing planes? Does your schedule have flexibility. Teh quick answer to your question is: Yes, there are boat crusies on lake Zurich and yes they are nice, but they may not line up with your itinerary. Suggest you check out the official website, http://www.zsg.ch/ and then refine yoru quesiton. Even without going on the boat, a stroll along the quay is a nice way to spend a few hours.

The shortest trip is 1.5 hours Roundtrip leaving from Buerkliplatz every thirty minutes until 19:30 (last departure).
It is included with the swiss pass.

Thanks docdan and mokka4,

The information is very useful. I will reach Zurich sometimes around 6:30 to 7:00 PM. I have whole evening. Overnight stay at Hotel near Zurich Airport and then fly next morning. Please advise route from Zurich HB to Buerkliplatz . How much time that would take.

Its a straight shot following the Limmat River AWAY from the Hauptbahnhof straight ahead to the Quai (Buerkliplatz)on the mouth of Lake Zuerich.
Takes about 20 minutes at a fast pace, so you may be cutting it close and risk not making the last sailing at 7:30.
Hope you will not have luggage and that you DO mean the HB, not the Airport...?!

Swiss passes are fully valid on nearly all lake boats in Switzerland, including Lake Zurich - try to go to a dock with train service back to Zurich. for lots of great info on Swiss trains, lake boats, etc I always spotlight these IMO fantastic sites - www.swisstravelsystem.com; www.seat61.com; http://www.budgeteuropetravel.com/id3.html and www.ricksteves.com. Just flash your pass when the conductor comes round - no reservations possible for individuals I believe nor necessary.

If not into boats you can walk along the lake's eastern side on beautiful walking paths hugging the shore.

not all boats or cruises I believe honor Swiss Passes so check before boarding - regular boats that folks use for transportation are but specialty dinner cruises, etc usually are not.
