Zurich Airport to Brienz - which train route?

We have a choice of travelling via Bern or Luzern, both take 3 hours and two changes and arrive in Brienz at almost same time. This is our first time in Switzerland, so which route will give us the "wow" factor and say welcome to Switzerland! We hope to visit both Bern and Luzern as day trips during our stay so I would appreciate your suggestions please.
Many thanks in advance.

The Panoramic Express goes between Interlaken and Lucerne, so maybe that route is the better.

Definitely over Giswil. Type "Giswil" under "via" in sbb.ch when entering your destinations.

Schuler, thanks so much for your suggestion. I had a feeling that would be the way to go but just wanted someone in the know to confirm it. Through Giswil it is!

A definite must is the Golden Pass train which takes you over the Brunig Pass into Brienz. Check timetable for this train and look for Golden Pass Panoramic train which has 8 VIP seats at the front of the train above the driver. These can be reserved online for CHF15 per person plus the cost of 1st class fare.
