John__Baptist, I was just re-reading the website for the walking tour and it appears that in the winter months the tour is only given ONCE a day on Saturdays at 11 am; I am not sure if you will be landing on time. Take a look at the website at http://www.zuerich.com/sightseeing.
They now also suggest you make a reservation. Sorry, I had not looked at the Zurich tour office website in over a year and they have actually changed things, a good reason to look more often before just posting about something....The good news is that if you can make it, the Zurich Card gives you 50% of the walking tour price. Hopefully you can make it. I will post some suggestions on what else to do at a later point, it will be fairly detailed. Also, take a look at a Fodor’s guidebook as they have some good walking tours in there with maps. (The layout of the old town has not changed in like 500 years I have a map from the 16th century and the streets are all still there...so old guidebooks are fine!) |
Hi Cicerone,
Please don't worry about that... I think I can do a walking tour by myself (taking a nice guide and some notes!). Moreover, I think I can still enjoy that bus tour as a nice possibility! Regarding that Fodor's guide, do you know if there is a .pdf version? You know, I'm in Brazil and it's not easy to find that kind of guides here...by the way, I was given a Frommers Switzerland 2004 guide, do you know this one? It's a .pdf version so I could print the Zurich chapter and take that with me... That's it... I'll be waiting for you further comments. TIA. John |
