Zurich

Any suggestions or recommendations for a reasonably priced hotel near the Zurich-Kloten airport?

Good afternoon,
Would suggest you staying in Zurich as
rail takes less than 15 mins to get to
Kloten. There are a number of hotels
very close to the Bahnhof, e.g. Central
Du Theatre or Rutli. Check into www.swisshotels.ch/ for further information... Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..

And if you'd prefer to be in a small town, try the Zum Goldenen Kopf in Bulach. J.

I should have mentioned that we will be catching an early flight (7:30 a.m.) so would probably have to take a taxi - don't know if hotel shuttles leave as early as 5:00 a.m.

I believe most hotel shuttles have schedules which match the departure schedules of major international airlines.

I think the closest hotel to the airport is the Golden Arch Airport Hotel, the first and I believe only hotel run by McDonalds. They are about 5 minutes from the airport. I found a listing for them on http://www.hotelclub. The website is quoting about US$105 for a single, and US$127 for a double.

To get an idea of hotels and prices in Zurich as chosen by Fodorites, click "Hotels" above, then choose Zurich. A list of hotels will come up. Ask to re-list them by price. The cheapest hotels seem to be SFr 160 per night, about US$114.

If you can find an inexpensive hotel in Zurich, you will find that trains run all the time from Zurich main station to the airport, takes about 12 minutes. Look at SBB.ch for schedules. Trains run about every 20 minutes starting at 5:02 am.
