There's coverage and seems to be between 2 terminals or a terminal and parking structure. The hotel shuttle pick up is organized by number. Specific hotels at delegated numbers. If you can, in advance, ask your hotel what number they are. I believe there are 4 areas. It'l save you walking up and down and looking. Not a bad arrangement, but with some hotels you may have a wait.

The waiting area for shuttle buses is easy to find. Just follow the signs.
The area is completely covered (indeed between the terminal and a parking structure).
Phone to the hotel. Many hotel shuttles will arrive every 30 minutes, others every 60 minutes and will stay only for a minutes. So ask the hotel about the schedule. Ask them also if the shuttle is free.
Be prepared that the hotel shuttle charges a fee. When I took the shuttle to the Marriott downtown, I found out that the fee was about the double of what a taxi would have charged. And there is no waiting for a taxi.

Thanks! I do know the Renaissance shuttle is 8CHf and I will email them with my flt info but won't have a phone to call them unless there is one in the terminal. I will ask what # they pick up at.

I don't know if that is an option at all, but the Renaissance is also served by a regular bus line, going from the airport to ZH Oerlikon train station.
Line 781 stops right in front of the Renaissance, needs 15min for the trip, and the fare is SFR 3.80.
I used it back from the hotel to the airport since the regular buses run every 15 minutes, mon thru fri, between 6am and 7pm. No services on weekends, or after 7pm.
Hotel shuttle buses are my pet peeve, since I *always* seem to be the one waiting in the bus while someone else forgot this or that, or they are waiting for one hotel guest to show up etc.
If I remember correctly, a taxi cost appr. SFR 25 or a bit less.
