Zermatt, Switzerland in March?
 

I have an opportunity to join a ski group the last week of March, 2003 in Zermatt. Anyone been there....suggestions for a non-skier for a week? Thanks.

Hi Amy, go..you won't regret it. Apres ski may be best anyway. I do not know what kind of deals you will get for the lifts if you don't ski, but do try to get up & down the mountains, as the views are spectacular...Zermat is expensive...you can always take a day trip via train from there too. <BR>Have a great time. Zermatt is great - better toward the spring-skiing season like March, meaning not as cold. Assume there'll be some things to do for non-skiers, like snow-shoeing, ice skating, swimming (indoors), or just walking. If you're debating what hotel, try the Hotel Julen - it has a GREAT wellness center. And yes - things will be expensive, but hey....

The area is unique to all of skiing (no cars, Mattahorn, etc)Italy is just over the mountain (although I think you need to ski to get there! Non-skiers all over the place. Break out your best fur coat and warm hiking boots and join them as the stroll 'up' the well marked trails for lunch in the Findeln areA! "Che Vroney", find it! You will not be sorry!!! Aplogies for poaching on Amy's thread, but . . .<BR><BR>John (or anyone) - I'm looking at setting up a ski trip to Cervinia (the "Italy" on the other side of the Matterhorn) next March. Did you ski on that side while you were there? Any advice?
