booked:
2008 Italy yet again my daughter wants me to go with her for a quick 3 week overview to view\choose place she wants to live.
2009 Aust.\NewZ for two months

Talking about with Travel pals for 2008
Riding horseback the outlaw Trail Utah
Same Thing more or less Copper Canyon Mexico
Same Thing riding the Pacific Crest Trail this we could do on our own horses as we could in Utah so odds it will be one of these.

Though South America may come up in the picture as its a good value right now money wise.

Only one in the planning for now:
June 2008-Paris, Munich, and all of Austria.
That's it!
I wish I could say there are more trips on tap. I can only hope that there will be. Reading all of these great trips planned by you all, I am getting some ideas.

Rome in February, 2008

Bremen in September, 2008

Bordeaux in October, 2008

And someplace else in there somewhere that I haven't quite decided on yet. Maybe Barcelona in January.

As a guy nearing 80 (in less than 2 years),I can only say that I sincerely wish each and every one of you the realization of your travel dreams...hope that you get to do all you've mentioned and then some. Amen.

We try to do two a year (one big and one smaller)...I'm working on my 70th country, my wife on her 60th. But now I am carefuly picking and choosing...most likely all will be "return journeys"...as I've said on this forum several times, my motto is:

"Travel until I unravel!"

Some of these are real real - some are just because I believe in visualization:

Rome with Mom

Rome, Umbria, Marches with my (Italian) children

London and Kent with mom & children

Madrid/Barcelona or Paris alone

Greek Isles with a player to be named later

This thread is making me very sad, as we just took the final trip of our two-year stint in Germany (we return to the States in December) and have no more European travels planned for the forseeable future. It feels very strange not to have a trip in the works.

We must take pleasure in all that we have experienced while living in Germany, so instead of listing future trips I'll list our travels from the past two years (not including the many day trips we have taken in southwest Germany). This has been a dream come true for us!

Romantic Road, Germany - December 2005
St. Anton (skiing) & Salzburg - February 2006 & March 2007
Munich, Landsberg am Lech, and Kaltenberg medieval festival - July 2006
Rallye Deutschland, Mosel Valley - August 2006 & August 2007
Paris & environs - September 2006
Berner Oberland, Switzerland; Rhone Valley, Massif Central & Dordogne, France - October 2006
Rome - December 2006 & June 2007
Kenya & Tanzania - February 2007
England, Wales, and Scotland - June 2007
Alps, Dolomites & Lake Como - August 2007
Hamburg, Luebeck, Ruegen, Rhine Valley - October 2007

Stu, I love your attitude!

September 2009 - Italy (again and again)

There is no way that Stu Tower is close to 80!!! If this is true, traveling must be good for the body as well as the soul because the man looks to be 20 years younger than that!!! (Stu and I met in Shanghai last April and had a wonderful day and dinner together with his lovely wife, Roz)

Ah me, dear EK...thank you for your super kind words, once again...HOWEVER, I just checked my driver's license, and sure enough, it says DOB 2-10-29.

I still get into the batting cages often, but I've slowed down to 60 mph pitches...

Hope things are going well for you...Roz and I talk often of our meeting with you in Shanghai, particularly when friends and relatives ask "Who's that lady in the picture?" One of my pat answers, with a straight face..."I always travel with two ladies!"

Stu: Just don't unravel while we are both leaning on your arms! Keep us posted on your plans, too.

Mmm. Mine are only thoughts, but they go something like this.

We have a share of a place in France and will therefore go there a lot.

We'll be there at New Year this year, then 2 weeks in the summer.

We're going to the Islay Festival for a week in May/June. Those are the only definites.

We will have one other week next year and I fear mine will be a party conference, so Brighton or Bournemouth or somewhere.

I haven't been to Crete for a couple of years, so that's on the list for the year after, for at least a week. We have friends moving to Martinique we'll want to visit, I think (no-one else is restricting themselves to Europe, so why should I?

The airport, here in Aberdeen, is adding lost of new places to fly to direct, most in Northern Europe, and I think we might do a little Scandinavia, and I will definitely do more Western Isles- Eriskay, Vatersay and Barra call.

That's do for now, I think.
