The organic farm outside Arles belongs to the restaurant La Chassagnette. We were allowed to stroll through it.

If you travel to New England there is a wonderful restaurant in Ogonquit Maine that has a wonderful organic garden. In the fall the outside is decorated with all their pumpkins. Inside, their flowers.

Michel_Paris, I spent a wonderful afternoon having lunch at the Brasserie de l'ilse. A jazz group was playing on the bridge, it was a slow day and the waiter chatted me up.

If you get tired of eating French food and enjoy Italian food and wine, try L'Enoteca. Great food, atmosphere and a terrific wine list.

Thanks zoecat---much appreciated. Love Italian. Nice web site, too.

JustineA,

Happy to help. If you love pizza (who doesn't?), this place has some of the best I have ever eaten (and I have been to Italy over 25 times!)-

La Chasagnette closed down a few years ago, and Jean-Luc opened a new one in Arles called L'Atelier. I don't know if he still has the organic gardens out in La Camargue that supplied La Chasagnette, but I understand that the "concept" of l'Atelier is still the same as it was at La Chasagnette - no menu really, just a parade of 10-12 small, fanciful dishes. I haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet.

StC: According to their blog they are alive and well. I think it's the same concept, however.

Thanks zoecat. I've been many times to Italy too and even lived there for a year. But the best Italian food I've had was in London many years ago!

My favorite restaurant in the Marais would be Chez Marianne on rue des Rosiers, not necessarily for the quality of the food (although it is quite good) as for the ambience.

Does anyone have recommendations for a brasserie or other simple place for shellfish?
